Bantey Srey

Included as part of the main temple park ticket Bantey srey is a 17km drive through beautiful Cambodian countryside.  Banteay Srey is a relatively small temple. It’s made of pink sandstone and the walls are covered with some of the most beautiful, deep and intricate carvings of any Angkorian temple. If you want to see some of the finest examples of classical Khmer art Banteay Srey is really worth a visit.

Koh Ker

A separate entrance fee of $10 is required to visit the Koh Ker temples. Located 150 km from Siem Reap in the north east of Cambodia. A trip to Koh Ker brings you deep into the Cambodian countryside and way back in time… The Khmer empire capital was located in the Angkor area for 500 years except for one short interruption. The empire was ruled from the Koh Ker site for 23 years until it returned to the Angkor area.  The most impressive ruin of the complex is Prasat Thom (Big Temple), an imposing 7 tiered pyramid.

Preah Vihear

The entrance fee is $10 and passport maybe required. The temple is located 230 km from Siem Reap in the vast northern plains of Cambodia near the Thai border. High atop the south facing cliff Preah Vihear lays with its breathtaking view of the lowland 550 meters below. The Temple is composed of a series of sanctuaries linked by a system of pavements and staircases over an 800 meters long axis and dates back to the first half of the 11th century AD, its complex history can be traced to the 9th century, when the hermitage was founded. This site is particularly well preserved, mainly due to its remote location. The site is exceptional for the quality of its architecture, which is adapted to the natural environment and the religious function of the temple, as well as for the exceptional quality of its carved stone ornamentation.

Kulen Mountain

Located 50 km from Siem Reap this is the place where the 500 year long Age of Angkor began. The mountain contains several minor ruins, an active pagoda, the river of thousand lingas and a beautiful waterfall. Kulen Mountain is not only a historical site and one of the most holy places for Khmers, but also a very beautiful place for a refreshing day tour. Both the waterfall and the river is accessible for a cooling dip on a warm day.
